Symmetry signs AvaLAN Wireless Systems
Hawthorne, Calif. — Symmetry Electronics has signed an agreement with AvaLAN Wireless Systems Inc. to distribute its entire product lineup, targting its long range RF modules.
“The exceptionally long range of AvaLAN Wireless’ products gives our customers the ability to greatly extend their wireless capabilities,” said Gil Zaharoni, Symmetry’s CEO, in a statement. “With point-to-point and multi-point-to-point reaches of up to 30 miles, line of sight — those hard to architect wireless systems are no longer just a dream. AvaLAN has successfully offered complete solutions for customers — most recently enabling those applications that need higher data rate throughput, like security cameras.”
Zaharoni added: “AvaLAN is able to consistently achieve data rates of 5 Mbits/s and 15 miles line of sight with their Ethernet radios and wrap around it, all of the housing, antennas and power converters required for a “plug and play” solution.”
AvaLAN’s products have been implemented in high interference indoor applications and long distance outdoor applications with ranges up to 30 miles. The company offers a number of Ethernet bridge products and point to multi-point wireless networking products, specializing in the unlicensed 900-MHz and 5.8-GHz radio spectrum.
