maxim-max17122Sunnyvale, Calif. — Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX17122, a multiple-output power-supply IC that integrates three regulators. The high-efficiency and fixed-frequency operation of these devices allow the use of small inductors and capacitors, resulting in a compact solution for the power requirements of thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD HDTV panels.

The MAX17122 operates from 8-V to 16.5-V input voltages and is optimized for applications running directly from 12-V regulated supplies.

The MAX17122 includes a 22-V internal-switch step-down regulator for digital logic, a 16.5-V internal-switch step-up regulator to power the TFT source drivers, and a temperature-compensated 36-V internal-switch boost-buck regulator that produces a negative output, which varies according to the temperature sensed by an external NTC thermistor. The GATE output directly drives an external p-channel MOSFET to provide true shutdown of the step-up output.

The MAX17122 is available in a 6 x 6-mm, 40-pin TQFN package. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.

Pricing: Starts at $1.10 (1000-up, FOB USA)
